28 CẤU TRÚC VIẾT CÂU CƠ BẢN

Dưới đây là công thức những cấu trúc cơ bản cho người mới bắt đầu luyện viết tiếng Anh 

1. S + be + adj + N = S + V + adv
   John is a skillful football player. = John plays football skillfully.
2. S + V + adv = S + V + with + N
   John plays football skillfully. = John plays football with great skill.
3. S + remember + to do Sth = S + don’t forget + to do Sth
   Maria remembers to post the letter. = Maria doesn’t forget to post the letter.
4. S + be + adj = What + a + adj + N!
   That girl is beautiful. = What a beautiful girl!
5. S + V + adv = How + adj + S + be
   She dances beautifully. = How beautiful her dance is!
6. S + V + adv = How + adv + S + V!
   She dances beautifully. = How beautifully she dances!
7. S + be + ing-adj = S + be +ed-adj
   This movie is exiting. = I’m excited by this movie.
8. S + V = S + be + ed-adj
   That film bores me. = I’m bored by that film.
9. S + V + khoảng thời gian = It + take + (sb) + khoảng thời gian + to + V
   I cleaned my room in one hour. = It took me one hour to clean my room.
10. S + be + too + adj + to + V = S + be + so + adj + that + S + can’t + V
    The shelf is too high (for me) to reach. = The shelf is so high that I can’t reach it.
11. S + V + too + adv + to + V = S + V + so + adv + that + S + can’t + V
    Mike walked too quickly (for me) to keep pace with. = Mike walked so quickly that I couldn’t keep pace with him.
12. S + be + so + adj + that + S + V = S + be + not + adj + enough + to + V
    My grade is so low that I fail the test. = My grade is not high enough (for me) to pass the test.
13. S + be + too + adj + to + V = S + be + not + adj + enough + to + V
    This box is too heavy to lift. = I’m not strong enough to lift this box.
14. S + V + so + adv + that + S + V = S + do/does/did + not + V + adv + enough + to + V
    Bob talks so fast that everybody can’t understand him. = Bob doesn’t talk slowly enough (for everybody) to understand (him).
15. Because + clause = Because of + noun/gerund
    Because it rained, I stayed at home. = Because of the rain, I stayed at home.
16. Although + clause = In spite of + noun/gerund
    Although it rained heavily, I went to school. = In spite of the heavy rain, I went to school.
17. Although + clause = Despite + noun/gerund
    Although he was injured, he went to school. = Despite being injured/the injury, he went to school.
18. S + V + N = S + be + adj
    She is an intelligent girl. = She is intelligent.
19. S + be + adj = S + V + O
    That movie is touching. = I think that movie touches me deeply.
20. S + be accustomed to + Ving = S + be used to +Ving /N
    I am accustomed to getting up early. = I am used to getting up early.
21. S + often + V = S + be used to +Ving /N
    Sarah often stays up late. = Sarah is used to staying up late.
22. This is the first time + S + have + PP= S+be + not used to + Ving/N
    This is the first time I have eaten sushi. = I am not used to (eating) sushi.
23. S + prefer = S + would rather + V
    I prefer going to the cinema. = I would rather go to the cinema.
24. S + V + O = S + find + it (unreal objective) + adj + to + V
    I think this book is difficult. = I find it difficult to read this book.
25. It’s one’s duty to do sth = S + be + supposed to do sth
    It’s students’ duty to complete their homework. = Students are supposed to complete their homework.
26. S + be + PP + to + V = S + be + supposed to do sth
    Sam is thought to leave the country. = Sam is supposed to leave the country.
27. Imperative verb (mệnh lệnh) = S + should (not) + be + PP
    Follow the instructions. = The instructions should be followed.
28. Imperative verb (mệnh lệnh) = S + should (not) + do sth
    Don’t smoke. = You should not smoke.
